Our Story

Nick has to be the most persistent and patient man on the planet.

Nick & I knew each other through random sightings growing up. He played soccer with people in my neighborhood and I always saw him around Dubuque. We were on the same AYSO soccer team in high school. I do not remember saying two words to him. Then we both ended up at Loras College. We would see each other and say hi, never really knowing why. After college we continued to run into each other, mostly (I am embarrassed to say) at Bricktown. I swear it was cool then. One night we shared a taxi. We got to his apartment on Grandview to drop him off and the next thing I know, he grabbed my arm and said "you're coming with me". And the rest is history. That was in the fall of 2004. I tried to get rid of him many times (why- I don't know), but he knew not to give up on me. He proposed on December 6th, 2006. Due to his ADD and child like excitement, he didn't propose in a fancy way, but instead asked me to marry him while I debated what books to order from Scholastic for my classroom. I would not change it for a thing. That is totally Nick- a no fuss guy! We have been married 3 years. Time has flown by and I don't remember my life without him. I am grateful that Nick yanked me out of a taxi, got me out of a funk, & showed me what love is.
